As much as we love to help our customers save money by fixing their super old units, the truth is if your AC or furnace is more than 15 years old, you may be looking at a repair bill with a four-figure price tag. And we have seen people willing to pay for repair more than a replacement would have cost. Well, it depends which company you choose for replacement but new units are not as expensive as most people assume. But it varies a lot from one HVAC company to another. Going with your cheapest option is not always the best too. But when your repair estimate reaches a thousand on an old unit, it’s usually the time when you should consider replacing you unit if you can afford it.

Old AC, Furnace and other equipment are more expensive to maintain. Newer units are more energy efficient. Upgrading your HVAC unit is important because it saves you money in the long run, makes your home comfortable and improves indoor air quality by keeping temperature and humidity levels steady.

Please note that it’s always a good idea to change your AC and furnace at the same time. And the reason is, that the labor for just AC replacement while keeping your old furnace or vice versa is almost the same as replacing the complete unit. Basically, you are saving thousands in labor getting both units replaced at the same time.

Because that’s what any other company would do and our customers love us for not trying to sell unnecessary parts or services.  Most customers are scared that the first thing we would do is to tell them that its not repairable. While we don’t do that unless its harmful to keep it running, we now think, once 15 years have passed and you are calling for repair twice a year, then you should definitely consider complete replacement. And you will be happy that you did. There are very cheap replacement options and very expensive ones too but no matter what you select, it should be better than your old one.
